YITIS has been contacted by Yukon Film and Sound Commission regarding a networking/discussion event they have coming up on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
It was decided during our recent AGM that we’d scale back the number of regular meetings that YITIS hosts each year.
The past year was an active and prosperous time for YITIS. Our membership numbers grew and we helped organized a variety of interesting events that benefited both our members and the Yukon IT industry at large. Therefore I believe, as linked to our vision, YITIS was very successful in exploring and building new markets, growing business capacity and advocating interests during 2009.
Please join us for the YITIS Annual General Meeting on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the Yukon Government Cabinet Room (Administration Building) all members are welcome to attend our meeting with the Honourable Archie Lang, Minister of Meeting with Highways & Public Works.
All YITIS members are welcome to join us at 11:00 a.m. on September 9, 2009 in the ECO boardroom, main Government of Yukon building to discuss Microsoft SharePoint.
YITIS has organized a lunch time meet up with Yukon Energy to introduce our members and the skills they offer to YEC.
If you’ve registered for the upcoming Interaction Design Practicum, June 2-4 2009, here’s all of the event details.
We’re excited to announce Liz Bacon from Cooper will be coming to Whitehorse from June 2-4, 2009 to run their Interaction Design Practicum course.
Microsoft SharePoint 2007 fulfills a range of business needs. As a platform, it can enhance collaboration, enable content management workflow, include enterprise search capabilities and provide many other benefits to large organizations. For these reasons, Government of Yukon, City of Whitehorse and Northwestel are all interested in SharePoint deployments of their own.
2008 was a year of positive change for YITIS. Adding to the strong foundation and successes of previous years, together the executive, board and members achieved some notable goals and widened the reach of this organization. Our renewed vision - first shared two years ago - is slowly, but surely being achieved: to explore and build markets; grow business capacity; and advocate interests.
YITIS is excited to present the first in a series of interviews that focuses on what it takes to start, manage and grow a successful Yukon IT business. In this interview, we speak to Colin Nickerson, Co-Founder and Programmer/Analyst of Vandelay Systems.
