Interaction Design Practicum details May 29, 2009 at 3:01 pm

If you’ve registered for the upcoming Interaction Design Practicum, June 2-4 2009, here’s all of the event details.

Please note that the course is now full and registration has been closed.

Financial stuff
Anyone who hasn’t paid the deposit please bring a cheque to the course. YITIS will be invoicing electronically for the balance on Monday, June 1 2009. This invoice will be due within 10 days of the course completion.

Date, time and location
The course will be held at Yukon College, June 2-4 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day in room C1440. For those of you who are familiar with the College it’s the “glass class”. For those who aren’t, please use the main doors, turn right and follow the signs to the course.

Lunch
YITIS will provide lunch for all three days. Coffee and tea will also be made available at 10:30 a.m. each morning. Lunch will consist of sandwiches (there will be some veggie sandwiches, but first come, first serve). If you need a morning shot of caffeine prior to 10:30 a.m., please bring your own. There are also vending machines just outside the classroom.

Instructor: Liz Bacon
The short story is that Liz worked for several years at Cooper as a principal consultant, then left for a while to work at St. Jude Medical in Los Angeles, running their user experience activities. She now works with Cooper as an independent contractor, doing consulting and teaching the Interaction Design Practicum. She recently has been working on strategies for marrying user experience with Agile development techniques, so if that topic is of interest to the group next week, she can be sure to dedicate some discussion time to that.

Handout
There will be a course handout available.
